What a long road it has been just to get here, and we’re still not “there yet”!
We are both delighted and humbled to have the privilege of creating Renascence Festival, an event dedicated to the revival of art, music, and culture after a time of spiritual dormancy. This event represents a juxtaposition of culture.
Juxtaposition occurs when two things are placed side by side for comparison, often to highlight the contrast between the elements. The simplest example would be the yin-yang symbol. There, you have a circle where the black and white elements stand in contrast to one another – positive and negative – but also complement each other. We see contrasts around us every day. And that’s the core of juxtaposition. It happens when two or more people, things, or situations are placed side by side in a comparison that emphasizes style, irony, humor or sadness. It can be intentional or unintentional.
Renascence festival is an attempt to juxtapose hyphy over wholesome, infuse bass music/hip-hop into nature, and coalesce again as a community.
We wish to honor the cultures which we draw from, and help contribute towards a new culture that we create together! We are aiming to curate a very specific vibe where people are free to be both vulnerable and connect deeply, enjoy nature, learn about plants, swim, and stay up all night dancing into the sunrise. We have chosen a very special place to host Renascence, and a lot of amazing and talented artists, musicians, and DJ’s too! We hope that you appreciate the amount of time and effort that our community has poured into curating this holistic experience.

Jordan LaPOSITIVE
Since the age of 5, Jordan has always had a serious love for music and theatrical performances. Growing up, Jordan played lead roles in school musicals such as Peter Pan and Danny Zuko (Grease). He went on to attend UCSC, and got degrees in neuroscience and electronic music. His strong technical background in audio engineering/mixing helps ensure that every event he is apart of producing is sonically extraordinary. Jordan enjoys hosting tea lounges where he has an opportunity to share his ceramic vessels and talk about benefits of the herbs/plants he is making tea from. For him, events represent forum for people to share with others about all of the things they love, and connect with one another over those shared interests.
